Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ty Semerad! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Peter Green! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Green, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A counter left hand to the body from Semerad misses its target. Green misses with a straight left. Green looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. As Green tries to get set, Semerad tries to push him back and clinch up but Green manages to avoid the attempt. Semerad throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Semerad ducks under a wild hook from Green. It looked like Semerad was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Green. Green cracks Semerad with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Semerad dodges the punch combination from Green.
Green fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Semerad manages to avoid it. A quick step to the side and Semerad tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green lands a glancing blow to the side of Semerad's head. Semerad uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Green. Peter Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Semerad misses with a body shot.
Semerad shoots in and gets a takedown into Green's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. Semerad pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Green is keeping the position for now. Green pulls Semerad in close to prevent any damage. Green lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Semerad is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Green is aware though and is defending well. Green cracks Semerad with a solid left hand. Semerad seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Green working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've been hearing good reports from Semerad's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Semerad is retaining full guard. Green advances position into side control! Semerad tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Green wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Green cracks Semerad with a big right hand but Semerad just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Semerad manages to work his way to half guard, despite Green's best efforts. Green lands with a punch from half guard. Semerad is refusing to be controlled, as Green sits in half guard. Green prevents Semerad from improving his position. Semerad looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Green might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Semerad haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Semerad is looking to improve his position.

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Semerad with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Green really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Semerad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Semerad wants to control but Green is keeping busy and won't allow it. Semerad looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. We've been informed that Green has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Green is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green is trying to control the action in half guard but Semerad is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Semerad is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Green is tapping! Great win for Semerad!
