The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hassan swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Masakazu has a takedown stuffed. Hassan has closed the distance and engaged Masakazu in a clinch.
Masakazu is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hassan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hayder Hassan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuki Masakazu. Hassan tightens his grip and picks Masakazu up, before dumping him to the ground. Masakazu manages to land in guard. Hassan tries to free his leg and advance position but Masakazu is retaining full guard. Masakazu keeping moving, preventing Hassan from controlling successfully. Masakazu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masakazu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hassan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Masakazu is tightening it up a little... Hassan has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hassan reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hassan taps out! Nice BJJ there by Masakazu!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Yuki Masakazu! Yuki Masakazu took some time post fight to say the following; 'I'd like to thank my Jiu Jitsu teachers Shinya Aoki and Masakazu Imanari, I couldn't of done this without them!'.
