Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Zay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Doud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doud has chosen roll call as his entrance music. Jay Zay looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Zay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Doud! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zay misses with a takedown attempt - Doud sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Zay closes this distance looking for a takedown but Doud circles away. Zay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Doud but Doud pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Zay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zay tries to close the distance and clinch but Doud swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Doud shoots in and bounces Zay off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Doud lands a couple of digs. Doud trying to control but Zay is working from the bottom. Zay being controlled here, momentarily. Doud is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doud thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Zay preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Doud drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Doud jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Doud looks gassed! Doud throws a big right hand that misses. Doud landing with the ground and pound. Doud thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Zay not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Doud should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Doud trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Zay shoots and misses and Doud counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Doud trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Doud postures up in Zay's guard and throws a big left but Zay blocks it. Doud postures up.
Doud throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zay works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Zay is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Doud stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zay swivels though and keeps the full guard. Doud throws and elbow that misses. Zay uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Doud's guard. Nice move by Zay! Doud has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Doud is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Zay shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zay is looking to clinch. Zay misses with a takedown attempt and Doud counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Doud. Doud working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Doud drops back looking for a leg! Zay is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zay manages to kick Doud off! Doud jumps back into Zay's guard. Doud keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Zay's head. Doud missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Zay preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Doud drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Zay manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Doud has Zay in his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Doud working for a triangle but Zay defends it easily.
Doud is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Doud had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Zay is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Doud Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Zay's back instead. Doud controlling well, preventing Zay from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Doud dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Zay has his takedown stuffed and Doud counters with a takedown into side control. Doud tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Doud has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Doud has hold of Zay's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Zay tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Doud cranks the arm and Zay screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Zay, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ryan Doud!
