Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Garcia to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Garcia throws a strike but Sonnen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sonnen is looking to stand up but Garcia won't let him.
Sonnen throws a big elbow that misses.
Sonnen wants to pass the guard but Garcia is keeping the position.
Sonnen drops back looking for a leg! Garcia is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Garcia manages to kick Sonnen off! Sonnen jumps back into Garcia's guard.
Garcia is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sonnen dives into side control.
Garcia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sonnen on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sonnen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Garcia has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sonnen is working Garcia over with some ground and pound from side control.
Garcia is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Garcia is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sonnen has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Oh Garcia is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sonnen stands up and beckons Garcia to his feet.
Sonnen is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Garcia is in big trouble! Sonnen is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Garcia. Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). John Sonnen!
John Sonnen took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
