Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Herritt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre has chosen Indestructable by Disturbed as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Herritt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Pierre! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Herritt shoots in but no luck this time. Herritt tries to clinch up. Pierre stuffs the takedown. Some wild striking there from Herritt.
A punch combination from Herritt misses. Pierre with a lazy takedown attempt and Herritt moves into the clinch. Herritt wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Herritt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Herritt has had enough of the clinch but Pierre keeps him there for the moment. Pierre controlling the action here for a moment.
Herritt jumps guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierre wants to control from the top but Herritt keeps moving. Pierre must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre is stalling in the full guard. Herritt trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Herritt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Herritt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Herritt is striking but Pierre is not phased and passes to half guard. Herritt tries to get to full guard but Pierre has control of the leg. Well, if Pierre is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pierre looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Herritt missing with punches from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A head kick misses from Herritt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Herritt looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Herritt cracks Pierre with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Pierre drives through and clinches with Herritt against the cage.
Pierre stops a takedown attempt from Herritt.
Pierre jumps into guard, dragging Herritt to the mat.
Pierre has his hands on Herritt's head, controlling the position. Herritt drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pierre dives on top into guard. Herritt has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pierre is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Herritt. Herritt is breathing heavily. Herritt is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Herritt sneaks back into half guard. Pierre takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Herritt flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pierre trying to control the pace. Pierre passes into side control, despite Herritt's attempt to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pierre dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Pierre shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Herritt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Pierre controlling the position easily from mount. Herritt flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

That's one minute gone in the round. Herritt breaks Pierre's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Herritt wants to stand but Pierre is controlling his posture from full guard. Pierre pulls Herritt in close to prevent any damage. Pierre keeping moving, preventing Herritt from controlling successfully. Pierre is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Herritt drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pierre looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pierre looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pierre! Pierre content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Herritt is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Pierre advances to full mount. Pierre looking to control but Herritt is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Herritt wants to hold on but Pierre pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Herritt swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Herritt is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Pierre working for a guillotine from mount but Herritt is in no mood to give up. Pierre prevents Herritt from getting the reversal. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pierre takes Herritt's back. Pierre controlling well, preventing Herritt from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Herritt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Pierre shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Herritt's guard. Pierre won't allow Herritt to get back to his feet. Pierre advances position into side control! Pierre should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Pierre tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Pierre avoids the strikes from the bottom by Herritt. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre stands up and beckons Herritt to his feet. Pierre with a poor takedown and Herritt counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Pierre fails to pull guard.
Herritt blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Herritt jumps guard but Pierre stands there with Herritt around his waist. Herritt gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Herritt breaks the clinch.
Herritt darts in trying to clinch and Pierre counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pierre. Herritt had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pierre is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Herritt Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pierre's back instead. Herritt struggling to keep hold of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pierre covering up well under a series of strikes from Herritt. Pierre manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Pierre. Pierre keeping moving, preventing Herritt from controlling successfully. Pierre preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pierre manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Herritt manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre stands and throws Herritt's legs to the side, diving into side control. Matt Pierre has got the better of the ground game so far. Pierre working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Herritt is trying to work for a sweep but Pierre has mounted him! Herritt is looking to improve his position but Pierre isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Herritt takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Pierre looking to control and managing it successfully. Herritt tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Pierre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Pierre winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
