Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a head kick that misses.
Esposito is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Jim Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson thows a leg kick but Esposito checks it
so Esposito counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Esposito wants to control from the top but Thompson keeps moving.
Thompson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Esposito has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Esposito thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Esposito drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Esposito jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Esposito drops back looking for a leg! Thompson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thompson manages to kick Esposito off! Esposito jumps back into Thompson 's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thompson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Esposito defends well.

Esposito trying to control but Thompson is working from the bottom.
Esposito content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Thompson has locked up a guillotine! Thompson 's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Esposito is holding on here and Thompson must be using up a lot of energy. Esposito has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Thompson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
