Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wendell Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wendell Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Da Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johns napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Johns sneaks out the side door and pushes Da Silva away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Johns stuffs the takedown attempt from Da Silva. Da Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

Da Silva dives in for a single leg takedown but Johns sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wendell Johns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Da Silva.
Da Silva throws a series of punches but Johns avoids them all with ease.
As Da Silva looks to move away, Johns throws a big counter combo bu Da Silva just gets out of the way.
Da Silva is looking to clinch.
Da Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johns as he jumps to the side.
No joy there for Johns, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Da Silva counters with a left and a right that stings Johns.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johns avoids a kick to the body.
Da Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johns defends it nicely.

Johns misses with a head kick.
Da Silva blocks a head kick by Johns.
Da Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Da Silva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Da Silva tries to clinch there but Johns circles away.
Johns tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Da Silva manages to circle out of the way.
Da Silva throws a head kick that misses.
Da Silva checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Da Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Johns sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Johns goes for a double leg but Da Silva avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Da Silva continues to drive forward.

Johns is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Da Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Da Silva misses with a head kick.

Johns shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Da Silva wants to get back to his feet but Johns passes into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Da Silva has a hand on Johns's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Johns takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Johns goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Da Silva turns into him and now he's in Johns's guard.

Da Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wendell Johns dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Da Silva closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Johns is trying to maintain a safe position but Da Silva gets an underhook and turns Johns into the cage.

Da Silva gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Johns is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Da Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Da Silva's back!

Johns is looking for a rear naked choke here but Da Silva reverses the position brilliantly into Johns's guard!
Wendell Johns overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Johns is pulling down on Da Silva's head. It's preventing any offense from Da Silva, at least for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johns has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Da Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

That was a close second round but I would say that Wendell Johns will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Johns throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Da Silva works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Da Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johns is working away from the top position though.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Da Silva lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Johns backs up against the cage.
Anderson Da Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wendell Johns is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Oooooh!!! Da Silva has knocked Johns down with a huge combo! Da Silva steps away and waves a wobbly Johns back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Johns is rocked!

Anderson Da Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Johns has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
