Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Mintz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Per Svensson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svensson scores with a body shot.
Svensson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Svensson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mintz.
Svensson misses with a head kick.
Svensson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A slapping body kick lands there for Svensson.
Mintz is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Svensson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Svensson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mintz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Svensson takes a little break here. Mintz wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Mintz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Svensson jumps into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Despite being in the dominant position, Per Svensson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mintz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Svensson.

It looks like Mike Mintz has been cut.

Svensson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mintz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Svensson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mintz uses from the top position.

Mintz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Svensson!

Mintz is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A head kick by Svensson - that's a beauty! Mintz is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Svensson can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
