PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Carter Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gab Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gab Batista was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Carter Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gab Batista!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista slips under a jab.
Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Batista throws out the jab.
Batista shoots for a double leg takedown but Williams sprawls well. He's pushed Batista's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Batista has his takedown stuffed
and Williams counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Batista scores with a nice right hand.
Batista bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Williams's head backwards.
A lazy left from Batista finds it's target.
Batista connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Batista swings for the body but Williams moves out of range.
Batista lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Williams at a distance.
Batista misses with a hook. Williams ducked under it nicely.
Batista tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Some bone on bone action there as Williams checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Batista gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Batista throws a head kick that misses.
Batista tries a head kick but it misses.
As Batista looks to move away, Williams throws a big counter combo bu Batista just gets out of the way.
Williams ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Williams tries to clinch but Batista moves out of range.
Batista fails with a takedown attempt.
Sean Carter Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gab Batista.
Batista shoots in and drives through. Williams sprawls well.
Batista throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Williams stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Batista misses with a hook to the body
and Williams counters with a nice uppercut.
Batista shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Batista on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Batista looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Williams checks a leg kick.
A jab from Batista finds it's way through Williams's defenses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Williams lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Batista throws a body shot but no joy.
Batista misses with a straight right.
Williams connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A punch combination from Batista misses.
Batista swings widly with a right hand
and Williams counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


Batista is rocked!
Batista throws a left and a right that both miss
and Williams counters with a right hand from hell and Batista is out cold! A vicious knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sean Carter Williams!
