Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sydney Odom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick William (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick William will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sydney Odom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick William! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! William tries to clinch but Odom is having none of it. Odom went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. William shoots in for a double leg but Odom sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Odom tries to counter by clinching up but William breaks away and moves out of range. William's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and William duly obliges.
It looks like Sydney Odom has been cut. William throws a push kick but Odom slaps the foot to one side. William is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. William throws a sloppy head kick and Odom counters with a nice double leg into guard. Odom showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. William working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Odom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Odom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Odom pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. William is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Odom is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. William throws his legs up looking for a submission but Odom uses it to pass to side control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. William fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Odom, pushing him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Odom gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. William has one foot on Odom's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Nice sprawl there from Odom as William shoots in. William throws a head kick that misses. Odom appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Odom feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Odom content to stall in guard here. Odom really is a fat lump. William has his foot on Odom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Odom works his way back into a safe position though. William looks winded! William can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Odom controls the pace.

William being controlled here, momentarily. Odom prevents William from getting back to his feet. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Odom is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. William throws a sloppy head kick and Odom moves out of range easily. Odom is looking for a counter combo. Odom shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in William's guard. William uses the cage to get back to his feet.
William tries to keep at a distance but Odom has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. William has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Odom pulls William into guard.
Odom is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst William is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. William trying to control but Odom is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Odom escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. William gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Odom keeping moving, preventing William from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sydney Odom dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sydney Odom's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Odom takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. William scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Rick William seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. William is looking to clinch. Odom throws a quick counter head kick but William was just out of range. William misses with a double jab.
William throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. William misses with the combination.
Odom seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. William shoots in for a takedown but Odom shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Odom stuffs the takedown attempt from William. William gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. William shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Odom sprawls well. Odom wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. William gets slowly back to his feet. Sydney Odom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick William. William is breathing heavily. Odom shoots in for a takedown but William shows good takedown defense. No luck with that takedown attempt from William. Odom went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. William just misses with a punch to the body.

and Odom counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Odom decides to stand up. William closes the distance and pushes Odom back into the cage. Odom manages to break the clinch.
Rick William seems to be getting the better of the standup. William lands a jab to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action! William clinches. Odom wants a takedown.

William drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
William is struggling to control the position. Odom jumps guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. William must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. William tries to free his leg and advance position but Odom is retaining full guard. Odom is trying to keep William in close.
Odom is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Odom is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Sydney Odom will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Sydney Odom's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Sydney Odom is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. William will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. William manages to retain guard. Odom is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Odom cracks William with a solid left hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Odom engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. William striking off his back but it's not causing Odom any problems.

William takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Odom stays in close to William's body and controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Odom prevents William from getting back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Odom bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. William explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! William shoots for a takedown but Odom saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. William clinches up with Odom and pushes him back against the cage.

and Odom counters with a nice double leg into guard. William pushes Odom off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice takedown defense from William. No joy for Odom on that attempt. William leaves Odom with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. William is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

No joy for William on that attempt. William tries to clinch up. Odom closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming William to the mat! William manages to get full guard. Odom content to stall in guard here. Odom decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on William, up you get! Odom looking to score a takedown here. William is defending well but Odom drives through and ends up in William's guard. Odom controls from within his opponent's guard.

Rick William has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sydney Odom is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. William throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that's the end of the fight! Sydney Odom showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Odom, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
