Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Freddy White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rich Junior has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 4, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy White! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rich Junior! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Junior scores with a jab to the body. Junior goes for a double leg but White avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as White continues to drive forward. Junior shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A jab from White does it's job there. White is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. White throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Junior shoots for a takedown but White saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Freddy White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Junior. Junior shoots in but White avoids the takedown attempt easily. We've been told by White's head coaches at Strong like Butterfly that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. White swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Junior. Junior throws an ugly left hook that misses
and White counters by moving into the clinch. Junior has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. White is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Junior is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables White to keep the fight standing. Junior jumps guard and drags White to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Junior manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. White manages to get himself to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Junior prevents White from getting back to his feet. Junior throws a big right hand that misses. White utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Junior looking to pass the guard. Junior prevents White from getting back to his feet. Junior trying to control but White is working from the bottom. Junior throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Junior wants to control from the top but White keeps moving. Junior has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Junior with a flurry of punches that miss. White on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if White tries to get out of the position. Junior advances position into side control! Junior in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Junior working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Junior wants to lay and pray for a moment but White keeps working. Junior content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Junior has hold of White's arm. He's looking for a kimura. White seems comfortable defending it but Junior has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! White is real pain and he's forced to tap out! White is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Junior couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rich Junior! Our winner, Rich Junior, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. In defeat, Freddy White stepped up to the mic, saying 'Back to the drawing board '.
