Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jannis Arvanitidis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eliah Marshal! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshal lands a front kick. Marshal misses with a wild body shot. Arvanitidis cracks Marshal with an open hand slap. Marshal leaves Arvanitidis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Marshal uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Arvanitidis. Arvanitidis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jannis Arvanitidis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Arvanitidis throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Arvanitidis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Marshal counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jannis Arvanitidis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marshal bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Marshal looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Arvanitidis cracks Marshal with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Marshal uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Arvanitidis. Arvanitidis walks forward, straight into a front kick from Marshal. No joy there for Arvanitidis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Arvanitidis has been working on his boxing with his coaches at HK13 LA in the buildup to the fight. Marshal tests Arvanitidis's chin there with a solid looking shot. Arvanitidis misses with a wild body shot. Arvanitidis misses with a double jab
and Marshal counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Marshal throws a quick inside leg kick.

Arvanitidis jabs Marshal to the body, keeping him at a distance. Arvanitidis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Marshal momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Arvanitidis throws a body punch but Marshal moves out of range. Arvanitidis takes a swing at Marshal's ribcage but misses. It seemed like Marshal was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Arvanitidis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Marshal to score with a decent uppercut. A looping hook to the body misses from Arvanitidis. Marshal does a little dance to reset his feet. Marshal looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. A left lands for Marshal. Arvanitidis walks forward, straight into a front kick from Marshal. A head kick lands from Marshal that sends Arvanitidis to the canvas. Arvanitidis tries to scramble back to his feet but Marshal brings him back down into side control.
Arvanitidis is rocked! Marshal tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Oh Arvanitidis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A lull in the action here. Arvanitidis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Marshal stands up and beckons Arvanitidis to his feet. Marshal gets a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arvanitidis is trying to break the clinch but Marshal has him pressed against the cage. Arvanitidis seems to have got his legs back now. Marshal throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Arvanitidiss head. Arvanitidis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Marshal pulls him back up using the underhooks. Arvanitidis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Marshal has managed to clinch.

Marshal lands with a right to the head. Arvanitidis looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Arvanitidis wants to get back to striking at distance but Marshal won't allow it.

Marshal closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Arvanitidis doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Marshal keeping full guard, as Arvanitidis tries to pass. Marshal looking to hit a scissor sweep but Arvanitidis is one step ahead there. Arvanitidis is working Marshal over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Marshal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Arvanitidis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marshal works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Marshal is trying to keep Arvanitidis in close.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Marshal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Marshal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eliah Marshal dominated that round. That's time! Arvanitidis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Marshal has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Good exchange - Marshal coming out on top. Marshal clobbers Arvanitidis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Arvanitidis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marshal. A head kick misses from Marshal. Arvanitidis misses with an uppercut
and Marshal counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Marshal forces Arvanitidis back against the cage and clinches. Arvanitidis on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Arvanitidis creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marshal creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Arvanitidis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Marshal moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Marshal avoids a punch combination nicely.
A nice side step and Marshal releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Arvanitidis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Arvanitidis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Marshal cracks Arvanitidis with a good jab. Arvanitidis shoots in but no luck this time. Marshal lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Arvanitidis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Arvanitidis crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Marshal - the referee stops the clock and Arvanitidis gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Marshal. Arvanitidis manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A combination from Marshal does no damage. Arvanitidis will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Marshal takes the fight into the clinch. Marshal landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Marshal lands a shoulder strike. Marshal lands with a short shot to the head. Marshal lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Marshal unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Arvanitidis! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Marshal is unloading with more strikes now! Arvanitidis drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eliah Marshal! In his post fight interview, Eliah Marshal started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
