Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vasilko Nikolaevich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frey Grabovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vasilko Nikolaevich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frey Grabovski! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nikolaevich slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nikolaevich looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Nikolaevich swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Grabovski counters with a two punch combo. Nikolaevich throws a body kick that misses and Grabovski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Nikolaevich keeping hold of Grabovski's head, controlling as best he can. Nikolaevich is refusing to be controlled, as Grabovski sits in half guard. Grabovski is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Grabovski prevents Nikolaevich from standing back up.
Grabovski moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Nikolaevich. Grabovski advances to mount. Nikolaevich tries to hold on but Grabovski postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nikolaevich is in all sorts of trouble here.
Grabovski takes Nikolaevich's back. Grabovski keeps control of the position as Nikolaevich tries to break free.
Grabovski working for the choke. Grabovski doesn't have the hooks in and Nikolaevich manages to turn into his guard.
Nikolaevich is looking to stand up but Grabovski won't let him. Nikolaevich wants to control from the top but Grabovski keeps moving. Grabovski keeping full guard, as Nikolaevich tries to pass. Nikolaevich with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grabovski is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Nikolaevich trying to control but Grabovski is working from the bottom. Grabovski tries to land a sweep but no joy. Grabovski throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Nikolaevich working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Grabovski wants to sweep but no luck. Nikolaevich trying to control the position from guard on top but Grabovski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Grabovski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nikolaevich lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Nikolaevich postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grabovski tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nikolaevich trying to control but Grabovski is working from the bottom. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Nikolaevich drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Grabovski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nikolaevich has Grabovski in his guard. Grabovski distracts Nikolaevich with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Grabovski wants to control from the top but Nikolaevich keeps moving. Nikolaevich working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Grabovski has passed into half guard!
Grabovski is trying to control the action in half guard but Nikolaevich is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nikolaevich tries to get to full guard but Grabovski has control of the leg. Grabovski is looking to take a break and control but Nikolaevich is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nikolaevich won't allow Grabovski to pass to mount. Grabovski is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Nikolaevich is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frey Grabovski! After winning the bout, Frey Grabovski thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
