Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tristan Alighieri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drew Carvalho!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Alighieri thows a left - swing and a miss!
Carvalho tries to counter with a clinch but Alighieri shakes him off and moves away.
Tristan Alighieri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alighieri throws the left hand but Carvalho avoids the punch easily.
Carvalho lands with a straight right. Alighieri didn't see that one coming.
Alighieri looks to land a left hand but Carvalho moved out of range nicely.

Carvalho pushes Alighieri up against the cage in a clinch.
Carvalho swings wildly with an uppercut but Alighieri uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alighieri blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Alighieri's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Alighieri closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carvalho to the mat! Carvalho manages to get full guard.
Carvalho wants to stand and escape but Alighieri is having none of it.
Alighieri makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Carvalho is looking to sweep but instead, Alighieri has passed into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alighieri scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Carvalho really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alighieri. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alighieri is working for a submission of some sort.
Alighieri not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Alighieri is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Carvalho has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alighieri throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Carvalho is looking to improve his position.

Alighieri tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carvalho knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Alighieri is working for a kimura but Carvalho is defending it quite comfortably.
Carvalho is trying to escape back to his feet but Alighieri uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carvalho is pushing Alighieri's head away, looking to escape. Alighieri manages to hold on to the position though.
Alighieri has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Alighieri misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Alighieri tries for a kimura but Carvalho is defending well.
Carvalho tries to improve position but can't.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carvalho can do anything to dispel that myth.
Carvalho is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Alighieri lands a decent elbow from side control.
Carvalho is trying to control Alighieri's posture but Alighieri avoids it.

Alighieri has hold of Carvalho's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Carvalho seems comfortable defending it but Alighieri has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Carvalho is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Carvalho is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Alighieri couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tristan Alighieri!
As Tristan Alighieri got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Through me you enter into the city of woes. Through me you enter into eternal pain. Through me you enter the population of loss. Abandon all hope, you who enter here.'.
Drew Carvalho was interviewed post fight and said 'Its cool i DGAF!!! IMA BE BACK TO CLAIM THAT STRAP'.
