Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Valdis Visvaldis!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Visvaldis has managed to clinch.
Garcia is trying to drag Visvaldis to the mat but Visvaldis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Visvaldis tries to work over Garcia's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Garcia gets control of Visvaldis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Garcia will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Visvaldis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garcia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Garcia pushes Visvaldis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Visvaldis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Garcia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Garcia really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Garcia manages to pull guard.
Visvaldis wants to stand but Garcia is controlling his posture from full guard.

Garcia will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Garcia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Visvaldis manages to get himself to full guard.

Garcia postures up and lands a big shot to Visvaldis's brow.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Visvaldis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Garcia wants to work for an arm triangle but Visvaldis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Visvaldis is looking to escape.

Garcia is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Visvaldis is just riding it out for now. Garcia eventually gives up the hold.

Visvaldis pushes Garcia off looking to stand but Garcia dives back in and keeps control.
Visvaldis has hold of Garcia's hands but Garcia slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Visvaldis is defending against the submission attempts here by Garcia.

Garcia is looking for a kimura but Visvaldis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Garcia to get the leverage.
Visvaldis pushes Garcia off looking to stand but Garcia dives back in and keeps control.

Garcia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Visvaldis has managed to free his arm - good work.

Visvaldis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Garcia is breathing heavily.

A head kick misses from Visvaldis.
Garcia swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Garcia looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Visvaldis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
It looked like Garcia was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Visvaldis.

Visvaldis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Visvaldis throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Visvaldis throws a series of punches but Garcia moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Visvaldis gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Visvaldis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Garcia's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valdis Visvaldis dominated that round.
That's time! Garcia's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Garcia shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Visvaldis throws a series of strikes that have Garcia backpedaling.
Visvaldis throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Garcia.


Garcia is rocked!


It looks like Joe Garcia has been cut.
Visvaldis lands a big head kick that sends Garcia to the canvas! Visvaldis follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Valdis Visvaldis!
