Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Steve Stricker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Pintado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stricker comes to the ring accompanied by Slim Jesus - Drill Time. Steve Stricker had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Stricker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miguel Pintado!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pintado throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Stricker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Pintado cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Steve Stricker has been cut.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Stricker checks a leg kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close second round but I would say that Steve Stricker will probably get the nod.

It looks like Stricker has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

and Stricker counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pintado thinking.

Stricker fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pintado.
Pintado has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Stricker walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pintado checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Stricker does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Pintado walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pintado moves out of range of the body kick from Stricker.
Pintado is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
That kick from Pintado tenderised Stricker's leg. Stricker is trying to keep his angry face on.
Stricker looks to land a combination. Pintado sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Pintado has closed the distance and engaged Stricker in a clinch.
Pintado is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
The referee is keeping an eye on Pintado - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Pintado tries to land knees in the clinch but Stricker avoids the damage to the body.

Pintado pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice straight punches there by Stricker. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Stricker.
Stricker connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pintado momentarily.
Pintado is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stricker.
Stricker cracks Pintado with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Stricker digs a good hook to Pintado's body.
Pintado tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Stricker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

A decent looking cross lands there for Pintado.
Pintado avoids the head kick by Stricker.
Pintado ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Stricker lands a high kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stricker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pintado pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Pintado takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stricker throws an elbow that misses.
Miguel Pintado has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stricker looking to throw knees to the head but Pintado is blocking nicely.

Steve Stricker showed his dominance in that final round.
