And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy pivots, looking for a leg kick but Poffo is out of range and Murphy settles back down.
Poffo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Murphy.
Murphy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Murphy.
Jab by Poffo.
Murphy shoots in for a takedown but Poffo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Poffo misses with a body shot.
Murphy with the counter takedown but Poffo avoids it easily.
Murphy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Poffo throws a head kick but Murphy moves out of range.
Murphy darts in looking for a takedown but Poffo gets double underhooks and turns Murphy into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Murphy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Poffo defends it nicely.
Poffo appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Randy Poffo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Murphy.

Murphy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Poffo is fending him off so far but Murphy persists. Nope, Poffo circles away and we're back to standing.
Murphy looks for a takedown but Poffo sprawls well.
Poffo misses with a straight left.
Poffo throws the kick towards the body but Murphy avoids it.

Murphy forces Poffo back against the cage and clinches.
Poffo lands a right hand that snaps the head of Murphy backwards.
Murphy avoids the elbow strike from Poffo, against the cage.
Murphy is fighting off a takedown attempt but Poffo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Murphy to the mat. Murphy regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Murphy wants to get back to his feet but Poffo passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Poffo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Poffo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Murphy is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Poffo scores with a couple of nice shots.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murphy can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Murphy wants to get back to full guard but Poffo has mounted him!
Poffo is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Poffo extends the arm and Murphy is forced to tap!
