The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard lands with a thumping leg kick.
Contreiras fails with a takedown attempt.
Julio Contreiras seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Howard throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Contreiras's head.
Contreiras lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Howard circles away quickly and effectively.
Howard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Contreiras throws a good cross that connects.
Howard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Contreiras closes this distance looking for a takedown but Howard circles away.
Contreiras tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Howard swivels and escapes.
