Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Chaves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Spike Reaper!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd cheers as Chaves lands an impressive looking overhand right. Reaper doesn't seem phased though.

Reaper feints and as Chaves raises his hands in defense, Reaper changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Reaper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Chaves knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reaper on the ground.
Reaper wants to control from the top but Chaves keeps moving.
Chaves is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reaper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Chaves is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Reaper drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reaper jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Chaves is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Reaper looks to land a combination but Chaves avoids it well.
Ricardo Chaves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chaves moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Chaves scores with a jab. Reaper acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Chaves misses with a wild body shot.
Chaves connects with a right hand. Reaper shakes it off.
Chaves misses with a straight left.
Reaper wants to counter the offense by Chaves and move into the clinch position.

Chaves connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Chaves's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Chaves duly obliges.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chaves cracks Reaper with an open hand slap.
Reaper walks into a stiff left hand from Chaves.

Reaper tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A punch lands to the side of Reaper 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Reaper takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Reaper tries to move into range but Chaves moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Reaper on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Chaves is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
A big left from Chaves misses.
Reaper takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Chaves connects with a looping right hand.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Reaper.
Reaper takes one on the button.
Chaves throws a left and a right that both miss

and Reaper counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Reaper throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Reaper is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Chaves has managed to free his arm - good work.
Reaper is keen to just control but Chaves is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reaper missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Reaper is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reaper is looking for a kimura here.

Reaper is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Chaves is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Spike Reaper!
