The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanford fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lamar.
Sanford paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
An inside leg kick lands from Sanford.
Sanford lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Lamar is breathing heavily.
Sanford throws a nice head kick!
Fred Sanford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lamar stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sanford.
Sanford connects with a leg kick. Lamar looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Sanford forces Lamar back against the cage and clinches.
Sanford lands a nice knee to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sanford dips a shoulder and cracks Lamar with a mighty uppercut! Lamar falls back against the cage and Sanford unloads with a barrage of strikes! Lamar is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Sanford screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Sanford!
