Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Shouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Bryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
33 - 37 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Bryan! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shouse instigates a clinch. Shouse has hold of one of Bryan's legs. Bryan is fighting the takedown attempt but Shouse gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bryan trying to keep a closed guard but Shouse is proving a slippery customer.
Bryan keeping moving, preventing Shouse from controlling successfully. Bryan pulls Shouse in to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shouse got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bryan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shouse has managed to get both his arms back between Bryan's legs - danger averted. Shouse is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shouse trying to control but Bryan is working from the bottom. Shouse postures up in Bryan's guard and throws a big left but Bryan blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shouse trying to control but Bryan is working from the bottom. Shouse tries to free his leg and advance position but Bryan is retaining full guard. Shouse with a flurry of punches that miss. Bryan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Shouse seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Bryan with a lazy takedown attempt and Shouse holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Bryan jumps guard but Shouse stands there with Bryan around his waist. Bryan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Shouse prevents Bryan from breaking the clinch. Shouse pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bryan fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Shouse misses with a head kick.
Shouse digs a good hook to Bryan's body.
Bryan gets the takedown into side control. Shouse tries to improve position but can't. Shouse defending against the ground and pound. You can see the frustration on Shouse 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Shouse stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Bryan scoring with punches from side control. Bryan cracks Shouse with a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shouse tries to improve position but can't. Shouse knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bryan on the ground. Bryan slows the pace down. Bryan lands a few punches from side control. Bryan wants to stand but Shouse has his arm trapped. Shouse on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shouse tries to get out of the position. Bryan landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Bryan lands a decent elbow from side control. Shouse trying to remain calm as Bryan controls from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shouse looking for a sweep but Bryan has passed into full mount! Oh no! Bryan looking to control and managing it successfully. Shouse is trying to escape the mount.
Bryan has control of Shouse 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Shouse regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bryan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shouse is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Daniel Bryan will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Bryan avoids the head kick by Shouse .
Bryan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bryan misses the jab. Shouse will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bryan wants to counter the offense by Shouse and move into the clinch position. Shouse moves into the clinch. Bryan jumps guard but Shouse turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Shouse escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shouse shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bryan eats them both and turns towards Shouse to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Bryan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shouse avoids it really well and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shouse keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Joshua Shouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Bryan. Shouse shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bryan is trying to defend but Shouse finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Bryan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shouse is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Shouse blocks the strikes from Bryan.
Shouse wants to stand up but Bryan manages to regain full guard. Shouse lands a couple of elbows. Bryan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Shouse wants to pass the guard but Bryan is keeping the position. Bryan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shouse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bryan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Shouse has Bryan up against the cage in a clinch.
Shouse breaks from the clinch.
Bryan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shouse defends well and Bryan ends up having to push Shouse into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Shouse will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shouse shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Shouse gets caught flat footed, as Bryan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Bryan trying to control but Shouse is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shouse has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bryan has managed to get both his arms back between Shouse 's legs - danger averted. Bryan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shouse 's head. Bryan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Shouse has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bryan has passed into side control.
Shouse is trying to control Bryan's posture but Bryan avoids it. Shouse reaches up around Bryan's neck trying to control. But Bryan takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Shouse ! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Shouse is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Bryan celebrates the victory with the fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Daniel Bryan! As Daniel Bryan got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! '.
