PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vince Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Vince Green has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vince Green seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vince Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dylan Robbins!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green gets caught napping as Robbins dives in and scores a takedown. Green manages to retain guard.

Green pushes Robbins off and scrambles back to his feet.
Green darts in looking for a takedown but Robbins gets double underhooks and turns Green into the cage.
Robbins is looking to clinch.

Green fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Robbins, pushing him back against the cage.
Green really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Robbins tries to land a knee to the head but Green blocks with his arms.
Green wants to break the clinch but can't.

Green decides to pull guard.
Green has a closed guard, preventing Robbins from standing up.
Green wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Robbins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Green is trying to keep Robbins in close.
Green avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Green has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robbins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Robbins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Green swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Robbins throws a series of punches but Green avoids them all with ease.

Green shoots in looking for a takedown but Robbins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Green's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Green takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Green is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Robbins.

Robbins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Robbins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Robbins laying and praying for a moment but Green takes advantage and regains half guard.

Green manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Robbins throws a head kick but Green moves out of range.
Green fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Green pulls guard successfully.
Robbins postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Robbins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Green. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vince Green will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Robbins's waist but Robbins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Green off to one side.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Green sneaks out the side door and pushes Robbins away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vince Green will probably get the nod.
That's time! Green's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Green shoots in for a takedown but Robbins shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Robbins feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Green enables Robbins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Green manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Robbins wants to pass the guard but Green is keeping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Robbins stands and steps away. Green gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vince Green.
Well Green has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
