Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kari Parisyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parisyen comes into the arena with Hari ng Tondo blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kari Parisyen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Christ!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Christ fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Parisyen sprawls well initially but Christ persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Christ is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Parisyen is just riding it out for now. Christ eventually gives up the hold.

Christ is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Parisyen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Christ prevents Parisyen from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Christ wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parisyen keeps working.
Parisyen wants to control but Christ is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Parisyen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Christ pulls his head out easily.

Christ is working for a submission of some sort.

Christ seems to be looking for submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Christ passes to full mount!
Parisyen tries to control the position but Christ now has his back.
Well, with Christ on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Parisyen is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Christ is not going to allow Parisyen to sit and survive in this position.
Parisyen tries to break free.

Christ patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Christ is trying to stick to Parisyen's back but Parisyen is turning into Christ. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Christ's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Parisyen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Parisyen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Christ has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Parisyen has managed to get both his arms back between Christ's legs - danger averted.

Christ is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Parisyen defends well.

Parisyen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Christ had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Parisyen defends it easily.

Parisyen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Parisyen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Parisyen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Parisyen trying to control the position from guard on top but Christ is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Christ throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Parisyen escapes and throws Christ's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Christ manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Christ is thwarting Parisyen's attempts to control the position.

Christ is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Christ dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Christ changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Parisyen fights it off and pushes away nicely.
George Christ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Christ has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Christ tries to score a power double leg takedown but Parisyen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Christ somewhat.

Parisyen throws a hook to the side of Christ's head but Christ sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Christ uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Parisyen.
Parisyen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Parisyen wants it to stay on the feet.

Christ drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Parisyen dives on top into guard.

Christ is trying to keep Parisyen in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parisyen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Parisyen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Christ works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Christ has a closed guard, preventing Parisyen from standing up.
Parisyen wants to control from the top but Christ keeps moving.

Christ escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parisyen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Christ has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Parisyen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Parisyen is looking to work some ground and pound but Christ has wrist control.
Parisyen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Christ is proving hard to escape from.

Christ looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Parisyen has picked Christ up and slammed him! Christ can't keep hold of the triangle and Parisyen manages to pass to side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Christ can't do much from the bottom here.

Christ closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parisyen circles away.
Parisyen throws a good cross that connects.

Christ throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Parisyen escapes and throws Christ's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Christ takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Christ manages to work his way to half guard, despite Parisyen's best efforts.
Parisyen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Christ with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Parisyen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Christ is not content to let Parisyen control the position.
Christ avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Parisyen.
Christ won't allow Parisyen to pass to mount.
Christ has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Parisyen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Parisyen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Christ does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
