Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otocanin Zmija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Otocanin Zmija! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Machado! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machado dodges the punch combination from Zmija.
Zmija bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Zmija working the ground and pound but Machado is defending the strikes. Machado struggling a bit here. Machado prevents Zmija from moving into mount. Zmija thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Machado is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Zmija's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Machado trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zmija will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Machado with the active half guard here but Zmija passes nicely into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Machado is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Machado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zmija can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Zmija looking to pass the guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Machado is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Otocanin Zmija dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Zmija avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Zmija is looking to counter punch. Zmija leaves Machado with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Zmija lands with an overhand left.
It looks like Roger Machado has been cut. Machado swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Machado instigates a clinch. Zmija wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Machado has him pressed against the cage. Machado keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Zmija's efforts to push away. Zmija working hard to break the clinch. Zmija is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Machado can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zmija looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Zmija is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Machado has escaped the position, nice work there. Zmija advances to mount. Zmija looking to ground and pound but Machado is blocking nicely. Zmija is working for a guillotine from mount but Machado frees his head quite easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Zmija controlling from mount. Zmija wants to control the pace but Machado is squirming around nicely. Machado is wriggling around trying to escape.
Zmija thowing shots but they're missing. Zmija tries to control but Machado wriggling away. Zmija goes for an armbar but Machado turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Machado. Otocanin Zmija overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Machado takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
