Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ned Flanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Apolonio Papas!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Papas misses with a head kick.
Flanders is looking to counter punch.
Flanders has been working on his boxing with his coaches at THE GYM (20 Elite coaches on the Island !!!) in the buildup to the fight.
Papas looks to land a body kick but Flanders moved away.
Papas will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
It looked like Flanders was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Papas.
Papas feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Flanders's calf.
Papas has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A head kick from Papas lands but Flanders takes it in his stride.
A nice leg kick lands there from Papas.
Papas lands with a kick to the temple. Flanders shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Ned Flanders has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flanders takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A solid body kick from Papas.
Papas tried to score with a low kick but Flanders checks it.
Flanders throwing a counter right hand but Papas manages to avoid it.

Papas lands with a kick to the temple. Flanders shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

and Flanders counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Papas throws a leg kick
and Flanders cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A low kick from Papas is predictable there
enabling Flanders to counter with a crisp jab.
Papas chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Papas! Flanders is out on his feet! Papas rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Flanders is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Flanders is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Apolonio Papas!
A relieved looking Apolonio Papas thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
