The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Montana defends it nicely.
Montana swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Montana avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A little feinted left hand from Montana on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Aldo misses with a takedown attempt
and Montana counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Montana counters with a stiff right hand.
Tony Montana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimi Aldo.
Montana lands a glancing blow to the side of Aldo's head.

enabling Montana to counter with a crisp jab.
Aldo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Montana circles away.
Aldo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Montana ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Montana lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Aldo backs up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Montana, as that shot connected.

Aldo closes the distance and clinches.

Montana stops a takedown attempt from Aldo.
Montana wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Aldo seems to have recovered his senses.
Montana wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Montana prevents a takedown attempt there.
Aldo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Montana is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A frustrated look appears on Montana's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Aldo is trying to drag Montana to the mat but Montana just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Montana tries to break free but Aldo pushes him back against the cage.
Montana is trying to push Aldo away but Aldo has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Aldo keeps control of Montana as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Montana escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Montana lands a nice hook to Aldo's body. Aldo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Montana wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Aldo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Montana connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Aldo takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Montana dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Aldo tries for a takedown but Montana circles away easily
and Montana counters with a stiff right hand.

Aldo shoots in but Montana avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Montana stuns Aldo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Montana is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jab, jab by Montana - just one landing.
The crowd cheers as Montana lands an impressive looking overhand right. Aldo doesn't seem phased though.
Montana fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Montana seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Montana is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Aldo takes one to the chin there.
Montana connects with a single shot there.
Montana scores with a jab.
Montana scores with a punch to the head.
Aldo finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Montana's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Aldo falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Tony Montana was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
