Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damian Cross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Stonemas!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cross rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stonemas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cross fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stonemas manages to avoid it.
Stonemas slips under a jab.
Cross throws a series of punches but Stonemas moves out of range.
Damian Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stonemas throws a hook but Cross avoids it easily.
Cross seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Stonemas scores with a three punch combo!
Cross misses with a few strikes there.
Stonemas swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Stonemas fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A combination from Cross does no damage.
Stonemas's coach down at Beast Playground was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stonemas's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

and Cross counters with a series of strikes. Stonemas will be more careful next time no doubt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Cross takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Stonemas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cross uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stonemas.

and Stonemas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cross misses with a wild combination.
Cross throws a shot from downtown. Stonemas moves away and avoids it.
Stonemas is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

letting Cross counter with a right hand.

Cross shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stonemas might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Cross drops his hands momentarily and Stonemas takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Cross throws a left and a right that both miss
and Stonemas counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Stonemas gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cross tries to work over Stonemas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Cross swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Stonemas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stonemas misses with a straight left.

Stonemas digs a good hook to Cross's body.
Cross takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Stonemas dodges the punch combination from Cross.
Cross connects with a body shot that sends Stonemas's belly button to the back.
Cross looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stonemas looks like he wants to counter punch here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stonemas drives through and clinches with Cross against the ropes.

Stonemas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A telegraphed right hand from Cross misses the target.
Stonemas is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Cross had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Stonemas catches Cross with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Stonemas cracks Cross with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Stonemas counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cross thinking.
Cross takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Stonemas lands an overhand right.
Cross throws a combination that misses
and Stonemas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cross is breathing heavily.
Stonemas throws a right hand that Cross ducks under and follows up with a left that Cross also avoids with ease.
A slow jab from Stonemas misses its intended target.
Cross throws a big counter combination but Stonemas scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stonemas. Cross does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stonemas connects with a looping right hand.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Stonemas lands a jab.
Cross throws a right and a left that Stonemas avoids nicely.
Cross misses with a double jab.
Cross just misses with a punch to the body.
Stonemas lands a head shot.

Stonemas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cross, pushing him back against the ropes.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Cross's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stonemas scores with a jab. Cross acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Cross takes a jab right on the kisser.
Cross defending well as Stonemas loads up on a big left hand.
Cross has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stonemas finds it's way round the side to connect with Cross's head.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Stonemas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stonemas.


Cross is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stonemas closes the distance and catches Cross with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Cross is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Cross is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Cross is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Stonemas takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Luke Stonemas!
