The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh wants to clinch up but Pointdexter keeps it at a distance.
Tristan Pointdexter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marsh is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marsh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pointdexter looking to score a takedown here. Marsh is defending well but Pointdexter drives through and ends up in Marsh's guard.
Pointdexter throws a strike but Marsh rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Pointdexter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pointdexter showed some decent athleticism there.

Pointdexter throws a strike but Marsh avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tristan Pointdexter dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Marsh doesn't manage to clinch there - Pointdexter circles away.
Marsh gets tackled into the cage by Pointdexter . Pointdexter maintains the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Pointdexter takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Pointdexter fails to pull guard.

Pointdexter has clasped his hands together around Marsh's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Pointdexter connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Marsh some visible discomfort.
It looks like Deon Marsh has been cut.

Pointdexter lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Marsh! Pointdexter senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Marsh out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!
