Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, MAX CONDOR! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, joel edmond! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! CONDOR wants to clinch. CONDOR cracks edmond with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
It looks like joel edmond has been cut. CONDOR shoots for a double leg takedown but edmond sprawls well. He's pushed CONDOR's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. CONDOR drives through with a takedown into guard. CONDOR wants to pass the guard but edmond is keeping the position. CONDOR working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. CONDOR tries to stand but edmond is controlling from the bottom. edmond keeping moving, preventing CONDOR from controlling successfully. edmond wants to stand but CONDOR is controlling the position. CONDOR has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. edmond pushes CONDOR off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. CONDOR displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. CONDOR tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. edmond tries to clinch but fails miserably and CONDOR counters with a head kick. That will keep edmond thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! edmond lands a nice looking body kick. edmond clinches up against the cage. CONDOR is looking to break free of the clinch but edmond has double underhooks. edmond keeps control of CONDOR as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. edmond with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
edmond looks gassed! edmond throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round. edmond misses with an elbow over the top. edmond misses with a hook from the clinch. CONDOR drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for MAX CONDOR. That's going to take a lot out of him. edmond lands a damaging elbow. CONDOR blocks the elbow strike.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as CONDOR takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. CONDOR wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but edmond has him pressed against the cage. CONDOR pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. edmond circles away from the clinch attempt.
CONDOR shoots for a double leg takedown but edmond sprawls well. He's pushed CONDOR's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. edmond tries to clinch up and CONDOR counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. edmond tries to kick CONDOR off but CONDOR keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. CONDOR content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. CONDOR is trying to control the action in half guard but edmond is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. CONDOR is just content to waste time from the top position. edmond takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. CONDOR wants to control from the top but edmond keeps moving. CONDOR stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. edmond swivels though and keeps the full guard. CONDOR wants to control from the top but edmond keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. edmond scrambles and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
MAX CONDOR dominated that round. The cut man is working on joel edmond's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
CONDOR keeps the fight on the outside. edmond clinches but CONDOR breaks the clinch and CONDOR counters with a shoot takedown. edmond fights it but they end up in guard. edmond wants to get back to his feet but CONDOR is in a dominant position and won't allow it. edmond preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. CONDOR trying to control but edmond is working from the bottom. CONDOR with a flurry of punches that miss. CONDOR sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed edmond's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. edmond is not content to let CONDOR control the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee stands the fighters back up. MAX CONDOR just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. CONDOR misses with a takedown attempt - edmond sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. joel edmond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. CONDOR fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. CONDOR shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. edmond wants to stand but CONDOR is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. CONDOR trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. edmond wants to stand but CONDOR is controlling the position. CONDOR trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. CONDOR sitting in guard, not really doing much. CONDOR trying to control the position from guard on top but edmond is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. edmond doesn't succeed with the takedown so CONDOR counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. edmond utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. MAX CONDOR overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. CONDOR throwing strikes from guard but edmond blocks nicely. CONDOR wants to pass the guard but edmond is keeping the position. CONDOR wants to control from the top but edmond keeps moving. edmond working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from CONDOR.
That's four minutes gone in the round. CONDOR sitting in guard here, content to control. CONDOR tries to free his leg and advance position but edmond is retaining full guard. CONDOR would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. edmond clinches. CONDOR avoiding damage as edmond throws knees to the body.

edmond has had enough of the clinch but CONDOR keeps him there for the moment. CONDOR pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
MAX CONDOR dominated that second round. The cut man is working on joel edmond's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
CONDOR scores a takedown into full mount! edmond taking shots to the head. CONDOR throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for edmond because CONDOR loaded up on that one. CONDOR can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as edmond is looking to escape. CONDOR postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. edmond looks a forlorn figure.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. CONDOR goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now edmond is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. CONDOR is working an open guard so edmond takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. edmond closes the distance but CONDOR moves to the side and CONDOR counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for edmond! CONDOR with good strikes from the mount here! CONDOR wants to take his opponent's back but edmond doesn't allow it. CONDOR raining down shots from the mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. CONDOR wants to control the pace but edmond is squirming around nicely. CONDOR has hold of edmond's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and edmond manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
CONDOR punching from mount but edmond doing a good job of avoiding damage. CONDOR misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's three minutes gone in the round. CONDOR stands up from mount. Strange move. Nice takedown defense from edmond. No joy for CONDOR on that attempt. edmond closes the distance looking to clinch and CONDOR counters with a nice double leg into half guard. CONDOR with the ground and pound but edmond uses the opportunity to regain guard. CONDOR wants to control from the top but edmond keeps moving. edmond wants to stand and escape but CONDOR is having none of it. CONDOR is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's four minutes gone in the round. CONDOR stops edmond from standing up. CONDOR stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. edmond swivels though and keeps the full guard. CONDOR showing good wrestling skills to control the position. CONDOR throws a big right hand that misses. edmond wants to get back to his feet but CONDOR is in a dominant position and won't allow it. joel edmond has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! MAX CONDOR is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. CONDOR shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says edmond as he avoids it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! MAX CONDOR showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for CONDOR, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
