Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Larocque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Engelbreckt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
31 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bryan Larocque!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexander Engelbreckt!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Larocque misses.
Engelbreckt throws a wild body kick that Larocque sees coming a mile off.
Engelbreckt throws a body punch but Larocque moves out of range.

and Larocque counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Larocque seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Engelbreckt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Larocque is trying to control. Engelbreckt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bryan Larocque is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Engelbreckt tries to clinch but Larocque is having none of it.

I was talking to Larocque's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Engelbreckt jumps guard but Larocque stands there with Engelbreckt around his waist. Engelbreckt gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Larocque's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Oh but Engelbreckt is tightening it up a little... Larocque has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Larocque reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Larocque taps out! Nice BJJ there by Engelbreckt!
