Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Iswan Dono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Basil McCrystal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Iswan Dono! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Basil McCrystal! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dono fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McCrystal manages to avoid it. A shot to the liver by Dono. Beautiful body shot. Dono really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. McCrystal does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Dono throws a right and a left that both miss. McCrystal checks the leg kick. It seemed like McCrystal was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Dono swinging wildly here.
Donk. Dono catches McCrystal right on the button with a cross. McCrystal with a poor takedown and Dono counters with a one-two to the body. McCrystal looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dono is fending him off so far but McCrystal persists. Nope, Dono circles away and we're back to standing. McCrystal throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dono counters with a thumping low kick. Dono throws an overhand right that lands on McCrystal's shoulder, as McCrystal tries to avoid the shot. McCrystal swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Dono throws out a powerful jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dono catches McCrystal with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Dono connects with a solid leg kick. McCrystal will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dono changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dono fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McCrystal on the side of the head. McCrystal keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McCrystal swings widly with a right hand
and Dono counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. McCrystal blocks a jab. McCrystal clinches with his opponent.
Dono gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, McCrystal regains guard.
Dono lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dono drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McCrystal manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dono has McCrystal in his guard. McCrystal throwing strikes from guard but Dono blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCrystal postures up in Dono's guard and throws a big left but Dono blocks it. McCrystal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. McCrystal is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dono is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dono has escaped and now he's on top! Dono preventing the sweep. McCrystal has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dono has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dono throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McCrystal works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dono loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. McCrystal keeping moving, preventing Dono from controlling successfully. Dono scoring with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCrystal preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dono is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Dono throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dono lands a couple of elbows. Dono in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dono definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Dono scoring with some ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dono accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dono distracts McCrystal with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Dono postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. We've been informed that McCrystal has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dono accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McCrystal has momentary wrist control but Dono slips an elbow through the middle. Dono trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dono wants to control from the top but McCrystal keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCrystal wants to sweep but no luck. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dono's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dono connects with a couple of short punches. Dono throws a big elbow that misses. McCrystal managing to control the position. Dono throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McCrystal works some decent striking defense from the bottom. McCrystal pulls Dono in close to prevent any damage. Dono with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Iswan Dono dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
McCrystal dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Dono moves forwards but McCrystal connects with a nice, crisp jab. Dono scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dono, as that shot connected.
McCrystal rushes Dono and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Dono blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Dono is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. A nice right hand lands inside from McCrystal. McCrystal changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dono fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Dono misses the target. McCrystal takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Basil McCrystal has been cut. Dono cracks the inside of McCrystal's front leg. Dono ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dono keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from McCrystal. McCrystal avoids the head kick by Dono.
McCrystal fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dono delivers a nice body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dono avoids the body shot from McCrystal.
Dono throws a right and a left that McCrystal avoids nicely. Dono is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McCrystal can do to turn this around? McCrystal missing with a left hand there. Dono was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dono throws a jab when McCrystal was well out of range. Dono throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McCrystal is looking to clinch. McCrystal's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dono under the eye. Basil McCrystal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McCrystal shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dono counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Iswan Dono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Basil McCrystal. McCrystal throws a right hand that Dono ducks under and follows up with a left that Dono also avoids with ease. Iswan Dono is winning the standup battle so far. McCrystal slips a jab from Dono. McCrystal fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dono scores with a sloppy right hand. McCrystal should have avoided that one. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Dono!

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McCrystal slips a straight right by Dono. McCrystal throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McCrystal ducks under a wild hook from Dono. McCrystal tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Dono throws the left hand but McCrystal avoids the punch easily. Dono looks to score with a jab to the body but McCrystal is just out of range. An inside leg kick lands from Dono. Iswan Dono is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dono throws a jab when McCrystal was well out of range. McCrystal shoots and misses and Dono counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. McCrystal takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
McCrystal lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Donk. McCrystal catches Dono right on the button with a cross. McCrystal lands a nice shot to the body.
McCrystal shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dono defends it nicely.

McCrystal takes a shot right to the bread basket. Dono avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dono lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Dono scores with a kick to the midsection. Dono works the jab nicely. McCrystal keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dono. McCrystal unleashes a big counter combination but Dono bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Dono swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. McCrystal takes one to the chin there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McCrystal tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dono defends well and McCrystal ends up having to push Dono into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Dono throws a counter high kick but McCrystal was just alert enough to avoid it. McCrystal misses with a takedown attempt - Dono sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Dono cracks the inside of McCrystal's front leg. Dono waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract McCrystal. McCrystal with the counter takedown but Dono avoids it easily. Dono throws a leg kick and Dono takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McCrystal doesn't manage to clinch there - Dono circles away.
Dono misses the shot to the body. Dono misses with a wild body shot. Dono cracks the inside of McCrystal's front leg. Dono connects with a leg kick. McCrystal looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Dono swings and misses with a shot to the body letting McCrystal counter with a right hand. McCrystal moves out of range as Dono strikes. McCrystal is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Iswan Dono dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Basil McCrystal's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Dono fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Nice uppercut lands for Dono. That snapped McCrystal's head back.
McCrystal checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Dono wants to slow McCrystal down by chopping away at his legs. Dono circles away from the clinch attempt.
McCrystal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dono swats him away and circles back towards the center. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dono misses with the body kick and McCrystal cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. McCrystal moves in looking to clinch but Dono pushes him off. McCrystal fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dono, pushing him back against the cage. Dono is trying to trip McCrystal. He has hold of a leg but McCrystal is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dono persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Dono cracks McCrystal with a solid left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCrystal looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McCrystal keeping moving, preventing Dono from controlling successfully. Dono is working McCrystal over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Dono content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. McCrystal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Dono is controlling McCrystal's position as best he can from this difficult position. McCrystal is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dono sees it coming and defends easily. McCrystal misses with a head shot. Dono uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McCrystal trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McCrystal seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. McCrystal trying to control the position from guard on top but Dono is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Iswan Dono is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McCrystal's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCrystal closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. McCrystal looks to throw the jab but Dono is out of range. Dono lands with an uppercut that bounces McCrystal off the cage and back into range. Dono lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. McCrystal throws a series of punches but Dono moves out of range. Dono feinted with a counter takedown. Dono jabbing away but nothing is landing. Dono missing with a left hand there. McCrystal was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dono smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. McCrystal wants to clinch up but Dono keeps it at a distance. Dono misses with a body kick. McCrystal has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. McCrystal closes the distance and pushes Dono back into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McCrystal tries to land knees in the clinch but Dono avoids the damage to the body. McCrystal jumps guard.
Iswan Dono overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dono throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dono keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McCrystal's head. Basil McCrystal has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dono will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dono trying to control but McCrystal is working from the bottom. Dono missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dono with a nice head shot there. Dono wants to control from the top but McCrystal keeps moving. McCrystal lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. McCrystal throws an elbow that misses. Dono uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McCrystal's guard. Nice move by Dono!
And that's the end of the fight! Iswan Dono showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dono, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
