Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Taortez Lonely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asano Kana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lonely avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lonely drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kana sprawls and moves away.
Kana wants to slow Lonely down by chopping away at his legs.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lonely or perhaps it was just good defense by Kana, which made it look bad.
Kana misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kana takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lonely misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Kana has closed the distance and engaged Lonely in a clinch.

Kana lands an elbow inside that Lonely shrugs off.
Lonely has had enough of the clinch but Kana keeps him there for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lonely has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kana uses from the top position.

Kana throws a strike but Lonely rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kana wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Kana is trying to reverse the position but instead Lonely has taken his back - oops!

Kana really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lonely. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lonely is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kana defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Kana tries to roll but Lonely sticks to his back.
Kana staying busy and making it hard for Lonely to control.
Kana is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lonely looking for the choke but no joy.
Lonely is breathing heavily.
Lonely controlling well, preventing Kana from escaping the position.

Kana is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lonely gets his way!
Kana is trying to get back to his feet but Lonely has full control of the position and if anything, Kana has just worked his way into a worse spot.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kana is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Will Lonely go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Kana is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Kana tries to escape but Lonely has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Asano Kana dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Lonely circles away from the clinch attempt.
A head kick by Kana misses
and Lonely cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Kana throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Lonely stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Kana follows into mount!

Lonely is rocked!
Lonely tries to hold on but Kana postures up.
Oh Lonely is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kana is looking to stand but Lonely has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Lonely bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lonely drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lonely jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lonely seems to have got his legs back now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kana can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kana wants to stand and escape but Lonely is having none of it.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lonely trying to control the position from guard on top but Kana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Lonely darts in and clinches Kana up against the cage.

Kana tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lonely avoids it.
Lonely is trying to break the clinch but Kana is controlling him.
Kana has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kana lands a knee to the head.
Kana is breathing heavily.

Kana with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Kana is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lonely is defending well for now.
Lonely jumps guard but Kana turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Lonely has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kana uses from the top position.
Kana wants to get up but he can't break Lonely's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lonely with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Lonely's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Lonely drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kana pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lonely shoots for a takedown but Kana saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Taortez Lonely is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lonely avoids the head kick by Kana.
Asano Kana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lonely tries for a takedown but Kana sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Lonely is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kana is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Lonely jumps into side control!

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Kana just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lonely's brow.

Lonely has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kana avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kana creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Lonely's defenses.
Lonely is working for takedown but Kana is calmly controlling the position for now.

Lonely escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kana goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Kana fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lonely, pushing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lonely ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lonely no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Kana is looking to advance position but Lonely has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Asano Kana is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kana has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
