The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guida closes this distance looking for a takedown but Makisig circles away.
Makisig swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Guida avoids the head kick by Makisig.
Guida checks a leg kick nicely.
Guida looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Guida landing with the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Guida accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Guida avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Guida in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Guida keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Makisig's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guida lands a couple of elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makisig utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Guida postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Guida throwing strikes but missing.
Makisig has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Guida should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Makisig has tightened it up now! Guida should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
