PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chozen Toguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Well Clayinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clayinton has chosen "Austrian Death Machine- Get To The Choppa" as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clayinton steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Toguchi.
Toguchi sets himself, and Clayinton steps forward looking for the clinch! Toguchi avoids it this time.
Clayinton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Toguchi is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Clayinton.

Clayinton tries to counter by closing the distance.

Clayinton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Toguchi to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Toguchi stands and throws Clayinton's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Toguchi tries to move to mount but Clayinton blocks the move with his legs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toguchi misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Toguchi is keen to just control but Clayinton is a slippery customer.

Clayinton reaches up to try and control the position but Toguchi seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Clayinton rolls and tries to escape and now Toguchi has his back!

Toguchi is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Clayinton is defending well though. Toguchi let's go of the attempt for now.

Clayinton shoots for a double leg takedown but Toguchi sprawls well. He's pushed Clayinton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Toguchi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Clayinton sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Toguchi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Clayinton is staying active underneath Toguchi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Toguchi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Toguchi has gone for a leg lock! Clayinton slips out almost immediately though and dives into Toguchi's guard.

Toguchi is nestled in close to Clayinton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Toguchi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Clayinton is just riding it out for now. Toguchi eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Clayinton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Toguchi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Clayinton can do to turn this around?

Toguchi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Clayinton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Clayinton drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Toguchi dives on top into guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Toguchi postures up in Clayinton's guard and throws a big left but Clayinton blocks it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Clayinton lands a nice shot to the body.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Well Clayinton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Clayinton lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Chozen Toguchi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Toguchi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
