Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luther Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Luther Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Robertson!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robertson moves into the clinch successfully.
Hernandez wants to break free but Robertson has control.
Robertson prevents a body shot from Hernandez.

Robertson pulls guard.
Robertson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hernandez.
Robertson is looking to sweep but instead, Hernandez has passed into half guard.
Robertson trying to hold on to Hernandez's head to control him but Hernandez postures up.
Robertson wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hernandez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Robertson's head.

Hernandez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Robertson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hernandez.
Hernandez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hernandez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Robertson trying to control from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hernandez lands a nice short elbow.
Robertson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Robertson.

Robertson has his foot on Hernandez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hernandez works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hernandez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Robertson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hernandez blocks a head kick by Robertson.
Hernandez is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Robertson.

Robertson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hernandez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Robertson is in Hernandez's guard.

Hernandez has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Robertson is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Hernandez breaks from the clinch.

Robertson feints and as Hernandez raises his hands in defense, Robertson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Robertson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Robertson postures up in Hernandez's guard and throws a big left but Hernandez blocks it.
Robertson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hernandez's guard.
Robertson prevents Hernandez from standing back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Robertson is trying to control the action in half guard but Hernandez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Robertson tries to clinch up.

Robertson drives through and clinches with Hernandez against the cage.

Robertson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hernandez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Robertson dives in for a single leg takedown but Hernandez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Robertson fails to land the takedown.
Hernandez shoots in for a takedown but Robertson shows good takedown defense.
Hernandez swats away the attempt to clinch by Robertson.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Robertson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hernandez swivels and escapes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Martin Robertson will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hernandez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Martin Robertson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Robertson shoots in but no luck this time.

Robertson closes the distance and pushes Hernandez back into the cage.

Robertson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hernandez misses with a body kick.

Luther Hernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Robertson.

and Hernandez counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hernandez fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Robertson is out of range.

Hernandez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Robertson is looking to control Hernandez's arms but Hernandez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Robertson has his back to the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Hernandez - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Robertson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hernandez darts in and clinches Robertson up against the cage.

Robertson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hernandez uses from the top position.

Luther Hernandez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Robertson shoots in looking for a takedown. Hernandez tries to sprawl out of it but Robertson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hernandez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luther Hernandez will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Robertson dives in and grabs Hernandez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hernandez pushes down on Robertson's head and hops out.

Robertson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Robertson shoots in and drives through. Hernandez sprawls well.

and Hernandez counters with a left and a right that stings Robertson.

Hernandez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hernandez lands in his opponent's guard.

Robertson pushes Hernandez off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Robertson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hernandez has managed to clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hernandez has hold of Robertson's hands but Robertson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Robertson throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hernandez to regain full guard.
Robertson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hernandez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Robertson throws a shot to the body.

Robertson gets a clinch.
Hernandez wants to break free but Robertson has control.
Robertson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Luther Hernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Robertson.
Robertson is trying to drag Hernandez to the mat but Hernandez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hernandez breaks from the clinch.
Robertson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hernandez tries to avoid it but Robertson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hernandez to the ground. Hernandez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hernandez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hernandez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Robertson has him pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Hernandez's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Robertson pulls guard effortlessly.
Hernandez working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Robertson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hernandez defends it easily.
Hernandez throws a big right hand that misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hernandez connects with a couple of short punches.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luther Hernandez showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hernandez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
