Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Freddie Weeks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vaino Siitaari!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weeks gets caught flat footed, as Siitaari shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Siitaari engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Weeks throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Weeks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Siitaari works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Weeks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Siitaari wants to free his trapped foot but Weeks is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Siitaari is working for a kimura but Weeks is defending it quite comfortably.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Siitaari with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Siitaari is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Weeks reverses the position - he's now on top in Siitaari's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Siitaari looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Siitaari keeping moving, preventing Weeks from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Siitaari will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Siitaari shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Weeks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Weeks working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Weeks looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Siitaari puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Weeks tries to get to full guard but Siitaari has control of the leg.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Siitaari lands a nice short elbow.
Siitaari thows a huge punch but Weeks dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Weeks is trying to maintain the position but Siitaari is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Siitaari fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Weeks sprawls well initially but Siitaari persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Siitaari working Weeks over with strikes.

Siitaari in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Weeks tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Siitaari!
