Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paddy Kubiak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Christopher Elisterio! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Elisterio. Kubiak slips a jab and a cross from Elisterio.
Kubiak on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Elisterio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kubiak displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Elisterio throws out the jab. Elisterio lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Elisterio connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Kubiak is rocked! Christopher Elisterio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kubiak shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kubiak showed some decent athleticism there. Elisterio manages to escape and get back to his feet! This has been an exciting period of action! Kubiak shoots in looking for a takedown but Elisterio manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kubiak's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Elisterio swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Elisterio throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kubiak counters with a three punch combo that has Elisterio backing up. Elisterio nods at Kubiak to acknowledge the strikes. A cross from Elisterio lands. Elisterio fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kubiak fails with a takedown attempt. Elisterio throws a series of punches but Kubiak moves out of range. Elisterio scores with a jab to the head.
Kubiak misses with an uppercut. Elisterio stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paddy Kubiak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kubiak tries to clinch but fails miserably and Elisterio counters with a nice uppercut. Oh Kubiak is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Elisterio closes the distance looking to clinch and Kubiak counters with a slapping leg kick. Kubiak seems to have got his legs back now. Elisterio sends Kubiak crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Elisterio is motioning to the referee to let Kubiak up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! This has been an exciting period of action! BOOM! Elisterio lands a beautiful left hook that drops Kubiak. Kubiak tries to recover but Elisterio is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Kubiak lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
