Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lance Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Truman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Truman has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lance Wells's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lance Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Truman!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Topper Green and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Truman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wells is trying to defend but Truman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Wells trying to control but Truman postures up.

Truman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wells doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Truman.
Wells wants to control but Truman is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wells is looking to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Truman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wells trying to hold on to Truman's head to control him but Truman postures up.
Truman performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Wells is pressing down on Truman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Wells fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Truman avoids it really well and circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wells keeps the fight on the outside.
Wells half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Bruce Truman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Truman misses with a body shot.
Truman misses with a low kick.
Wells tries to counter by clinching up but Truman breaks away and moves out of range.
Wells shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Truman as he avoids it easily.

Wells gets caught flat footed, as Truman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wells pulls Truman in to control the position.
Truman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Truman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Truman lands a couple of digs.
Truman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Wells's guard.
Truman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Wells really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wells is trying to keep Truman in close.
Truman arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Wells's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bruce Truman!
