Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wood Pecker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Erik Thorvaldson! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorvaldson scores with a jab to the body. Pecker scores with a three punch combo!
Thorvaldson has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Thorvaldson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pecker throws a lazy uppercut
and Thorvaldson counters with a right hand to the body. Thorvaldson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pecker manages to avoid it. Thorvaldson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Pecker has been working on his boxing with his coaches at THE GYM (20 Elite coaches on the Island !!!) in the buildup to the fight. Pecker throws a lazy right hand but Thorvaldson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pecker slips a straight right by Thorvaldson. Pecker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Thorvaldson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Thorvaldson loads up on a big right hand but Pecker slips the punch. Pecker lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Pecker delivers a nice body kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pecker throws a jab but it's blocked by Thorvaldson. Pecker avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Pecker misses with a head kick.
Pecker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pecker throws out a loose jab but Thorvaldson uses good head movement to avoid it. Pecker scores with a jab to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pecker misses with a looping right. Pecker tries to keep at a distance but Thorvaldson has taken the fight into the clinch. Thorvaldson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Pecker wants to stall.
A short right from Thorvaldson on the inside. Thorvaldson decides to pull guard. Thorvaldson managing to control the position. Pecker wanted to stand there but Thorvaldson had control of the position. Pecker is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Thorvaldson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Pecker is looking to defend but Thorvaldson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pecker! Thorvaldson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pecker taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Erik Thorvaldson! Erik Thorvaldson bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
