Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cody Garbrandt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hit Run (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garbrandt comes into the arena with Volbeat - A Warrior's Call blaring out of the sound system. Hit Run is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cody Garbrandt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hit Run!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Run sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Garbrandt goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Run dives in and scores a takedown into Garbrandt's guard.
Run wants to pass the guard but Garbrandt is keeping the position.
Run stands and throws Garbrandt's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Run tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Run wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Garbrandt, who protects the arm well.
Run thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Run has an Americana. Garbrandt didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Run is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Run hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Hit Run!
