Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnathon Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Brewis Jnr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gary Brewis Jnr told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Brewis Jnr! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brewis Jnr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Brewis Jnr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Duran works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Brewis Jnr throws a big elbow that misses. Duran wants to sweep but no luck. Duran working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brewis Jnr. Brewis Jnr throws an elbow that misses. Duran uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brewis Jnr's guard. Nice move by Duran! Duran could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Brewis Jnr avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brewis Jnr wants to sweep but no luck. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Duran wants to stand and escape but Brewis Jnr is having none of it. Duran controlling the position.

It looks like Johnathon Duran has been cut. Brewis Jnr works over Duran with some ground and pound from guard. Brewis Jnr tries to stand but Duran is controlling from the bottom. Brewis Jnr is looking to work some ground and pound but Duran has wrist control. Duran wants to stand and escape but Brewis Jnr is having none of it. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Brewis Jnr moves into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Brewis Jnr's face as he tries to break the clinch. Duran is trying to pull guard but Brewis Jnr has him pressed against the cage. Brewis Jnr regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brewis Jnr wants to hit a switch here but Duran passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Brewis Jnr there! Brewis Jnr wants to control but Duran is having none of it. Brewis Jnr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Duran parries the strikes from Brewis Jnr easily there. Brewis Jnr is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Duran to escape.
Duran is trying to control Brewis Jnr's posture but Brewis Jnr avoids it. Brewis Jnr working the ground and pound from side control. Brewis Jnr is trying to ground and pound but Duran uses the momentary lack of control by Brewis Jnr to regain half guard. Brewis Jnr throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Duran to regain full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duran is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Brewis Jnr with a flurry of punches that miss. Brewis Jnr landing with the ground and pound. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gary Brewis Jnr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Brewis Jnr manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Duran moves forwards but Brewis Jnr connects with a nice, crisp jab. Brewis Jnr listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. The fight moves into the clinch position. Brewis Jnr blocks an elbow strike. Duran escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brewis Jnr drives through with a takedown into Duran's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Duran is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Duran's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Brewis Jnr is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Duran's half guard. Gary Brewis Jnr has got the better of the ground game so far. Brewis Jnr working Duran over with strikes.

Duran postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Brewis Jnr wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Duran manages to pass to side control.

Brewis Jnr is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Brewis Jnr is trying to break the clinch but Duran is controlling him. Duran has clasped his hands together around Brewis Jnr's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Duran wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brewis Jnr, who protects the arm well. Brewis Jnr has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brewis Jnr is trying to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Gary Brewis Jnr. Well Brewis Jnr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
