Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cedrick Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cowboy Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cowboy Roy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cedrick Shepherd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cowboy Roy! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Roy misses. As Roy tries to get set, Shepherd tries to push him back and clinch up but Roy manages to avoid the attempt. Roy fails with a takedown attempt. Shepherd is looking to counter the offense by Roy and move into the clinch. Roy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Roy tries for a takedown but Shepherd sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cedrick Shepherd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cowboy Roy. A leg kick checked by Shepherd. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roy closes the distance and clinches up with Shepherd, looking for a takedown. Roy pushes Shepherd against the cage but Shepherd circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Roy looks winded! Roy gets a clinch. Shepherd is looking for a takedown. Shepherd drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Roy gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Shepherd tries to score a body lock takedown but Roy shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Roy stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Shepherd is working for takedown but Roy is calmly controlling the position for now. Shepherd has Roy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Roy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Roy breaks the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shepherd shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roy pinned against the cage. Roy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Roy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Shepherd counters with a left to the body. Shepherd feints a jab promting Roy to slip. Shepherd then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Roy slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. A nice combination there by Shepherd.
Shepherd fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Roy sprawls well initially but Shepherd persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Roy kicks Shepherd off and gets back to his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Roy has his takedown stuffed and Shepherd counters with a series of strikes. Roy will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Roy. No joy for Shepherd on that attempt. Shepherd forces Roy back against the cage and clinches. Roy prevents a takedown attempt there.

Shepherd keeps control of Roy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Shepherd is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Roy is defending well. Shepherd has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Roy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Shepherd avoids a wild elbow strike from Roy.

Roy tries to keep at a distance but Shepherd has taken the fight into the clinch. Shepherd is trying to drag Roy to the mat but Roy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Roy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Roy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Roy keeping moving, preventing Shepherd from controlling successfully. Roy thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Cedrick Shepherd will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Roy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Shepherd scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Shepherd makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Roy is working an open guard so Shepherd takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Shepherd gets a clinch. Roy gets underhooks to prevent Shepherd's takedown attempt.

Roy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shepherd is fending him off so far but Roy persists. Nope, Shepherd circles away and we're back to standing. Shepherd lands a jab to the head.
Roy shoots in but no luck this time. Roy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shepherd. Roy gets a clinch. Shepherd wants a takedown but no success here.

Shepherd scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Shepherd postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shepherd's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Shepherd won't allow Roy to sweep him here. Shepherd sitting in guard here, content to control. Roy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Roy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shepherd has Roy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Roy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Roy effectively controlling the action here. Shepherd drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Roy gets the underhooks and prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cowboy Roy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Shepherd feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Shepherd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shepherd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Roy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Shepherd distracts Roy with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Roy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shepherd defends well. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Shepherd manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Roy on his heels. He'll look to pass Roy's guard now, I'm sure. Roy is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Shepherd dives into side control.
Shepherd looks up at the clock and then as Roy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Shepherd smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Shepherd connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Roy some visible discomfort.
Shepherd thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Roy is trying to get back to his feet. Shepherd throwing shots but missing, from side control. Shepherd scoring with punches from side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roy is working to avoid the ground and pound but Shepherd connects with a decent elbow. Shepherd in side control lands a decent elbow. Roy takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Cedrick Shepherd showed his dominance in that final round. I think Shepherd has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
