Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Rogowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Moha Kassari! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kassari misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rogowski. Rogowski shoots in but Kassari avoids the takedown attempt easily. A combination from Kassari does no damage. Kassari tries to bum rush Rogowski with a series of wild strikes but Rogowski uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kassari throws a right hand that Rogowski ducks under and follows up with a left that Rogowski also avoids with ease. Kassari throws a combination that misses and Rogowski counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kassari! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kassari prevents Rogowski from improving position. Kassari tries to escape but Rogowski is in control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogowski lands a nice forearm strike. Rogowski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kassari keeps working. Rogowski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kassari is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Rogowski tries for a kimura but Kassari is defending well. Kassari wants to get back to his feet but Rogowski drags him back down. Kassari is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogowski trying to control the action but Kassari is working from the bottom. Rogowski prevents Kassari from escaping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kassari is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Rogowski wants to control but Kassari is keeping him busy. Kassari takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Rogowski lands a nice forearm strike. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rogowski is working to tighten his grip on Kassari's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kassari has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Rogowski is really squeezing tight and eventually Kassari passes out! Rogowski breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
