Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between BJ Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Resnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, BJ Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Resnar!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hughes looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Resnar!
Resnar sneaks back into half guard.
Resnar tries to roll over but Hughes keeps him under control.
Resnar is trying to stand up here but Hughes is controlling him well.

Hughes is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Resnar has managed to free his arm - good work.

Resnar is defending against the submission attempts here by Hughes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Resnar manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hughes gets to his feet. Resnar looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Hughes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Resnar, who protects the arm well.

Hughes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Hughes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Resnar has escaped the position, nice work there.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Resnar has eaten all the pies!
Resnar wants to get back to his feet.
Hughes happy to just control the position for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Resnar sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Hughes gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hughes is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Resnar reverses the position - he's now on top in Hughes's guard.

Hughes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Resnar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hughes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hughes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Resnar quickly recovers to half guard.

Hughes is looking for a kimura but Resnar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hughes to get the leverage.

Hughes is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Resnar is trying to maintain the position but Hughes is very close to passing his half guard.

Resnar is refusing to be controlled, as Hughes sits in half guard.

Hughes is working for a kimura but Resnar is defending it quite comfortably.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hughes drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hughes wants to control from the top but Resnar keeps moving.

Resnar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hughes defends well.
Hughes's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hughes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hughes drops back looking for a leg! Resnar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Resnar manages to kick Hughes off! Hughes jumps back into Resnar's guard.

Resnar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hughes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
BJ Hughes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hughes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hughes pushes down on Resnar's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hughes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hughes seems to be working for a kimura but Resnar defends the submission attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hughes is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Resnar to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

BJ Hughes dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Resnar closes the distance and clinches up with Hughes, looking for a takedown. Resnar pushes Hughes against the cage but Hughes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hughes drives through with a takedown into Resnar's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Resnar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hughes is aware though and is defending well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hughes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Resnar to the ground. Hughes is now in Resnar's guard.

Hughes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Resnar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hughes has managed to get both his arms back between Resnar's legs - danger averted.
Resnar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Resnar has his foot on Hughes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hughes works his way back into a safe position though.

Brock Resnar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hughes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Resnar can do to turn this around?

Hughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Resnar keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hughes prevents Resnar from escaping the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hughes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hughes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
BJ Hughes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hughes tries to move to mount but Resnar blocks the move with his legs.

BJ Hughes showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hughes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Brock Resnar spoke after the fight, saying 'im not a great fighter but im good i just need a little push i was hoping id get signed but i was wrong but im going to keep pushing until i get a sponsor and an org to represent me thank you fans for your hype and support'.
