Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pollyanne Rothchild (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gina Carera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rothchild comes to the cage accompanied by I Will Survive. Gina Carera will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pollyanne Rothchild! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gina Carera! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carera scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Rothchild might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Carera staying calm. Carera misses with the ground and pound. Rothchild manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Carera is staying active underneath Rothchild, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Carera controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Rothchild is trying to control. Carera wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rothchild wants to pass to mount but Carera is defending the position. Carera is in trouble now - Rothchild has advanced to mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothchild wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carera is trying desperately to improve position. Rothchild sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Rothchild looking for a guillotine from mount but Carera is having none of it. Rothchild wants to take Carera's back but he can't do it this time. Rothchild tries to control but Carera wriggling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rothchild prevents Carera from getting the reversal. Rothchild can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carera is looking to escape. Carera is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rothchild trying to control but Carera is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rothchild wants to take his opponent's back but Carera doesn't allow it. Carera regains half guard. Carera won't allow Rothchild to pass to mount. Rothchild looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Carera is looking for a sweep. Rothchild is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Rothchild trying to mount his opponent but Carera defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carera wants to improve his position but Rothchild is controlling well.
Rothchild is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rothchild is figuring out what he wants to do next. Carera is looking to improve his position.
Carera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rothchild. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rothchild is trying to control. Carera wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rothchild wants to pass the guard but Carera is defending well. Rothchild trying to control from half guard but Carera is working away.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carera tries to break free but Rothchild pushes him back against the cage. Rothchild is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carera can do to turn this around? Rothchild gets control of Carera's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rothchild will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Rothchild lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Carera controlling the position. Rothchild trying to control but Carera is working from the bottom. Rothchild stands and throws Carera's legs to the side, diving into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Rothchild tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Carera is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothchild is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carera knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Rothchild passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Carera! Rothchild is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Carera is surviving well by controlling Rothchild's body position as best he can. Carera bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rothchild is looking for a triangle here but Carera uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Rothchild looking for a sweep but Carera has passed into full mount! Oh no! Rothchild regains half guard. Rothchild gets full guard. Carera wants to control from the top but Rothchild keeps moving. Pollyanne Rothchild overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rothchild is trying to keep Carera in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rothchild has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Carera controls from within his opponent's guard. Rothchild has an active guard here but Carera has managed to pass into half guard.
Rothchild regains full guard. Nicely done. Carera sitting in guard here, content to control. Rothchild looking for a sweep. Not yet Rothchild, not yet. Rothchild is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Carera has his hands clasped together around Rothchild's back. He's all about the action. Carera is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Rothchild wants to pass to mount but Carera is defending the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pollyanne Rothchild dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Rothchild rushes Carera and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Carera turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Rothchild is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rothchild wants to improve his position but Carera is controlling well.
Rothchild is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carera's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carera's back! Carera is in bad spot here.
Rothchild is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Carera needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Rothchild looking for the choke but no joy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rothchild has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Carera has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothchild tries to keep control of the position but Carera is staying busy. Rothchild is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Rothchild is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Carera defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Carera breaks Rothchild's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Rothchild has his foot on Carera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carera works his way back into a safe position though. Rothchild escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Rothchild is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Carera is working for a kimura but Rothchild is defending it quite comfortably.

Rothchild desperately trying to maintain half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rothchild looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pollyanne Rothchild. Well Rothchild has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
