Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcio Andre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rude might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Headstones - Long Way to Neverland. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Rude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcio Andre!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rude attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Rude has managed to clinch.

Andre decides to pull guard.
Rude wants to control from the top but Andre keeps moving.
Andre manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rude manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rude wants to get back to his feet but Andre is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rude is pulling down on Andre's head. It's preventing any offense from Andre, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rude is looking to stand up but Andre isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Andre has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Andre avoids the body shot from Rude.
Andre throws a body kick that misses.
As Andre looks to move away, Rude throws a big counter combo bu Andre just gets out of the way.
Andre will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rude lands a left and a right that send Andre crashing to the mat, dazed. Rude thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Marcio Andre has been cut.

Rude throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Andre gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Rude wants to slow Andre down by chopping away at his legs.
Nick Rude seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rude throws a jab when Andre was well out of range.

Andre shoots in looking for a takedown but Rude manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Andre's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Rude throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Andre keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rude's efforts to push away.
Rude lands a nice uppercut.
Andre is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rude pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Nick Rude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcio Andre.
Come on Rude - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rude throws a low kick but it's checked well by Andre.
Andre tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Andre looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rude is fending him off so far but Andre persists. Nope, Rude circles away and we're back to standing.
Rude fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Andre throws a jab but it's blocked by Rude.
Rude was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Andre is looking to clinch but Rude is avoiding it.
Andre fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rude avoids it really well and circles away.
Andre shoots for a double leg takedown but Rude sprawls well. He's pushed Andre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nick Rude is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Andre shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Andre is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Rude is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Andre is looking to take a break and control but Rude is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rude is pressing down on Andre's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rude is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Rude has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Andre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Rude will probably get the nod.

Rude connects with a good right hand that stumbles Andre. Andre circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Andre tries to keep at a distance but Rude has taken the fight into the clinch.

Andre is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rude can't fight it off and eventually Andre manages to take the fight to the floor. Rude looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rude is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Andre is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Andre keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rude.

And Andre tries to counter it with a takedown but Rude pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Oooooh!!! Rude has knocked Andre down with a huge combo! Rude steps away and waves a wobbly Andre back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Andre scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rude doesn't seem bothered though.
Nick Rude is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rude motions for Andre to come forward. Rude throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Rude closes the distance and pushes Andre back into the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Andre is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rude gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Nick Rude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcio Andre.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rude, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
