Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jojo Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hughes moves into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Bridges is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Hughes manages to break the clinch.

Hughes moves into the clinch successfully.

Hughes misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bridges.

Hughes has Bridges pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hughes pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bridges tumbling to the mat - Hughes dives into Bridges's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bridges is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bridges had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hughes defends it easily.

Hughes drops back looking for a leg! Bridges is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bridges manages to kick Hughes off! Hughes jumps back into Bridges's guard.

Bridges has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hughes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hughes wants to control from the top but Bridges keeps moving.

Bridges is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hughes pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hughes not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hughes prevents Bridges from standing back up.
Hughes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bridges's head.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hughes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hughes clinches up against the cage.
Bridges jumps guard but Hughes stands there with Bridges around his waist. Bridges gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hughes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hughes moves into range and clinches up with Bridges.

Bridges jumps into guard, dragging Hughes to the mat.
Bridges tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hughes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Hughes throws a big right hand that misses.
Bridges is trying to control the position but Hughes postures up.

Bridges looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hughes passes into half guard.
Bridges is breathing heavily.
Bridges is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hughes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hughes's back!
Hughes wants to get back to his feet.
