Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrell Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyrell Spong!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws a chopping leg kick but Spong manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Brown looks to land a right hand but Spong moved out of range.

Spong shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Spong was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Spong wants to stand but Brown is controlling his arm.
Brown parries the strikes from Spong easily there. Spong is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Brown to escape.
Brown manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Brown is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Spong defends it well.
Spong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown passes to full mount!
Brown misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spong is looking to improve his position but Brown isn't that keen on the idea.
Brown tries to control but Spong wriggling away.
Spong is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Brown can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Spong is looking to escape.

Brown goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Spong turns into him and now he's in Brown's guard.
Spong content to stall in guard here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Spong wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Spong looks to land a body kick but Brown moved away.

Spong looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Spong is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Brown wants to sweep but no luck.
Spong is looking to stand up but Brown won't let him.
Spong wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

Spong trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Brown manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Spong working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brown manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Spong preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spong throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Spong scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Spong takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Brown throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Brown throws a leg kick but Spong sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Brown misses with a hook.
Brown misses with a double jab.
Greg Brown is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brown is looking to score with low kicks.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brown lands a jab to Spong's midsection.
Brown moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Spong pushes Brown up against the cage in a clinch.
Brown tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spong just stands there and leans against the cage.

Spong manages to pull guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Spong is on top in guard.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Spong from controlling successfully.

Brown is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brown manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spong manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tyrell Spong will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Spong shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brown manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Spong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Brown is looking for a triangle but Spong pushes his legs off easily.

Brown is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Spong rolls with it to try and escape but Brown cranks on the arm and Spong is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
