Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Rivers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thierry Boudreau!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivers darts in and clinches Boudreau up against the cage.
Rivers with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Rivers has Boudreau pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rivers pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Boudreau tumbling to the mat - Rivers dives into Boudreau's guard.
Rivers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rivers content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Boudreau avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boudreau has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rivers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rivers postures up.
Rivers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rivers working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Rivers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Boudreau looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rivers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Boudreau working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rivers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rivers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rivers throwing strikes but missing.
Boudreau bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rivers's guard.
Rivers throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Rivers can't keep his opponent in guard - Boudreau advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rivers gets back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rivers misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Boudreau.
Boudreau doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Boudreau gets caught napping as Rivers dives in and scores a takedown. Boudreau manages to retain guard.
Boudreau tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rivers lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Rivers works over Boudreau with some ground and pound from guard.
Rivers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rivers is in close to Boudreau's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Rivers throwing strikes but missing.
Boudreau is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boudreau wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Rivers is now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boudreau tries to get to full guard but Rivers has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rivers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boudreau's corner calls for a 1-2. Boudreau obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


It looks like Gary Rivers has been cut.
Donk. Boudreau catches Rivers right on the button with a cross.


Rivers is rocked!
Rivers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Boudreau is looking for the big counter here.
Oh Rivers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rivers throws an off balance right hand
and Boudreau counters with a huge right that knocks Rivers out cold! Boudreau is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
