Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Federico Mcguire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Barkley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Federico Mcguire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Barkley! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barkley cracks a nice hook into Mcguire's ribs. Mcguire drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mcguire thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Barkley takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Barkley struggling a bit here. Barkley is looking to regain half guard here but Mcguire keeps moving and retains side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barkley wants to control but Mcguire postures up. Barkley is trying to improve his position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcguire working away.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mcguire uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Barkley. Barkley listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Mcguire closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcguire wants to get back to his feet.
Mcguire prevents Barkley from improving his position. Mcguire throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Barkley manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Barkley is looking to sweep but instead, Mcguire has passed into half guard.
Barkley gets back to full guard.
Barkley has momentary wrist control but Mcguire slips an elbow through the middle. Barkley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mcguire wants to stand but Barkley has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Barkley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mcguire manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcguire keeping full guard, as Barkley tries to pass. Barkley pushes down on Mcguire's leg and manages to get into half guard. Barkley missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Barkley wants to free his trapped foot but Mcguire is holding on for dear life with his legs. Barkley is trying to work for a kimura but Mcguire is defending well.
Barkley is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mcguire has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Barkley wants to pass to mount but Mcguire is defending the position. Barkley throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Barkley is trying to control the action in half guard but Mcguire is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Mcguire is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mcguire is in trouble now - Barkley has advanced to mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tim Barkley will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Barkley's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mcguire under the eye. Barkley digs a good body shot into Mcguire's ribs. Tim Barkley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mcguire shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Barkley working a defensive guard but Mcguire manages to pass into side control anyway.
Barkley tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mcguire really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barkley manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Barkley wants to sweep but Mcguire has passed to side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Barkley tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mcguire presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Mcguire avoids the attempt from Barkley to control. Barkley keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Barkley slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Barkley manages to get to full guard.
Federico Mcguire overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Barkley pushes a forearm under Mcguire's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Mcguire is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
